RFF/NEPI Project
NEPI’s first initiative is a joint project with Resources for the Future (“RFF”), an independent research institution based in Washington, D.C. RFF, a national leader in energy, economic and environmental policy development, is managing a team of national experts across the country to produce a broad, ranked list of policy options from which national leaders may select to develop a comprehensive national energy policy.

The first preliminary study result announces significant new information regarding the impact of increased natural gas reserves.
Abundant new natural gas supplies can help the United States achieve low-carbon goals, but only if coupled with effective climate policies, according to a new study from Resources for the Future.
Natural Gas: A Bridge to a Low-Carbon Future? is based on research conducted as part of the joint RFF/NEPI project. The full project report – covering costs and effectiveness of a range of energy policy options – will be available in early 2010.
